WHEN DOES THE INSTITUTE COLLECT INFORMATION?

We may collect certain information when an individual:

  • Registers for use of the our communities or posts information
  • on a shared area of the Site.
  • Purchases certain products or services from us.
  • Registers for one of our events or teleconferences.
  • Seeks employment opportunities with Kaleidoscope.

WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE INSTITUTE COLLECT?

Personal contact information you may choose to provide while visiting or registering on our Site. This information may include your name, address, institute/organization, position, telephone number(s), email address, and the name and email of third parties you may provide to us.

If you register to participate in communities we may have, we may have in the future or other shared areas of the Site, you may be asked to create a profile. Your profile may be made available to other members of the shared Site(s) and may include the registration information you provide as well as other information you choose to add such as work history and education.

Behavioral information about how you use the Site.

If you are applying for a job, your resume, work history, and education that you choose to provide or upload your resume via the Site.

 

HOW DOES THE INSTITUTE USE THE INFORMATION?

We use the information collected as follows:

We may use personal information you share with us to provide products or services that you request, answer your inquiries or communicate with you about your account or transactions with us, and send you information about features on the Site or changes to our policies.

We may also disclose certain data to third parties that perform services on our behalf and have a need to access the data in connection with those services. Contractual agreements between us and such third parties provide that your information will be kept confidential and secure.

We may use your email address to send periodic promotional emails and special offers.

We may analyze data pertaining to visitor trends to improve/plan Site enhancements and measure overall Site effectiveness.

We collect the contact information of event attendees at the time of registration. An attendee’s name, position, and/or institute/organization will be transferred to sponsors of the event. This information will also be available to event attendees during the event.

We use “Google Analytics” to collect information about the use of this Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this Site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this Site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics to improve this Site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this Site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information.

Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use (as amended for government websites) and the Google Privacy Policy. Google Analytics employs cookies to define user sessions, which allows for the collection of data about how visitors are using the Site. To better serve you, we have also implemented a Google Analytics feature known as Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. Via Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting, we may use data from Google’s Interest-based advertising or 3rd-party audience data (such as age, gender and interests) with Google Analytics primarily to improve our marketing campaigns and Site content. Visitors can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads using the Ad Settings tool. As an added privacy measure, you can use Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

You can contact us if you believe your personal information is incorrect.

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails you receive at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.

Please note that we or other vendors or third-party advertisers may also use cookies that are independent of those placed by our analytics contractor (for example, to remember your password or to tailor Site content).

Notwithstanding any language to the contrary in your Contract or any other agreement, by posting any User Content on this Site you expressly represent and warrant to us that any such User Content is not confidential or proprietary to you or Client, and your posting of such User Content does not violate any confidentiality or other obligations to which you are subject
